Día De Los Muertos Mixed Type Poster & Branding

This project was about promoting an event of our choice and having a theme/style to promote the event. I decided to do the Día de Los Muertos Celebration (Day of the Dead).

Día de Los Muertos is a time when families gather to honor and remember deceased loved ones. It is believed that the souls of the dead return to visit the living families in homes, businesses, and cemeteries. The event will celebrate Día de Los Muertos with the local community in Austin. It will be featuring face painting, a parade, live music, ofrendas, and more! The event having around 10,000 people held at Emma S. Barrientos Mexican American Cultural Center. The main purpose of the poster is to tell the viewer what this event is about just by the title, colors, illustrations, and layout. I want the audience to want to attend this event and be well-informed about it.

Mood Boards

Final Design

Out of the top three rough drafts of the different concepts I decided to go with this one! The tan looks very clean and simple yet is easy to catch and see the illustration and have a general idea of what this event is about.

Billboard Mock-Up

The design on a billboard mock-up shows how it will look when driving on the highway or just passing by.
